Further rifling through old box files has revealed another blouse the current whereabouts of which I know not what of but which I like sufficiently to show in a small blog post. I have to admit the blouse is enhanced by the beauty of the wearer whose loveliness would have had the Pre-Raphaelite painters fall over themselves in a rush to get to their paintbrushes.
The blouse was made of a slightly rough cotton (Laura Ashley) and it is embroidered in satin stitch and what I keep wanting to call coral stitch – a sort of linked knotted stitch (must find out more). I had intended to fill in the flower and leaves with seeding but I only seem to have started doing this on one flower.
